Picked up my nice new Anthem 29er today which came with racing Ralph 2.25 tyres. I am going to put nobby nics onto it and was wondering about the width. On my 26er anthem I normally ran it with 2.1 nns/Ralph's. any reason why a 29er should have 2.25 rather than 2.1 tyres?
Sorry if this is a really dumb question.....
Bigger tyres are more fun, no matter what wheel size.
There's some science my mate was telling me about, that said fatter tyres roll better...
I've 2.35 Ralphs on my SIR.9, but it's fully rigid though.
Darnd'ed double post.
Hi,
I run 2.1 Ralph on the back and Rocket Ron 2.2 on the front on my Anthem 29.It's a bit old school style but my main reasons were same as 26.Lighter weight and a bit more clearance on the back.Didn't they say that on a 29er you could get away with narrower tyres because they offer more grip?
I see they are doing a Ron in 2.1 for 29ers now which I might consider getting for the front.
Thanx,
Max
