[Closed] 29er sizing - what have you got, how tall are you?

The niche whore in me is getting increasingly fixated by the idea of a rigid SS 29er, given that most of what I do is simple muddy bridleway bashing.

These thoughts are seriously frowned upon by the local Fun Police, so it will have to be a trawl through classifieds and ebay when I have scraped some funds together.

So - buying secondhand, given that I am 5'9 and a little bit, what size frame should I be looking for from the various manufacturers.

To give mea bit of guidance, how tall are you, what have you got and what size frame is it?

All halp appreciated.

What top-tube length do you normally fit - have a look at some geo charts? Not all 29ers are sized the same, just like 26ers!

If it helps I'm 5'10" with relatively long leg and ride 18" On-one

According to the sizing charts, I'm at the top of the range for the 16" frame and the bottom of the 18", hence my query, but the TT measurement seemed long even given that my medium Soul is not a short a bike.

(Ponders Clinks post - considers similar height but shorter leg comparison and wanders off to watch that frame on ebay again.....)

6'4"
On-one Scandal 21" - fast roomy, XC, lovely
On-one Ti29 19" - still lots of room, but moreso under the nadgers. Still in front of rear axle. Great when it gets more tangly.

5'10ish and an 18" inbred 29er which feels right and a medium OBED 29er.
By way of 26er comparison I ride and 18" Ti456 and 18" Kona leroi.

I had the same sizing dilemna but went with the 18" On Ones.

I think the advice on the On One website went along the lines you probably need an 18" as we sell twice as many in this size as any other. The other advice was not to get too frantic about sizing.

I'm 5ft 7 and ride a 16" Kona Big Unit.

I think it has a 23" top tube for memory and I tend to swap between a 90mm and 80mm stem.

I can't seem to make my mind up on the stem length, although I know that the 70mm was too short.
