absolute piece of pish. There are some instructions on mtbr somewhere, will have a search for you, but it really is simple. Do you have the spacers already? If so, all you need is a small allen wrench and a shimano BB tool, and about 2 minutes. Happy to talk you through it if necessary.

I want to manufacture the spacer (to the right size)

fitting is easy as I need to replace the spring anyway

Sorry to hijack thread, but what's the deal with the conversion? Are you seeing converting a standard 140mm lefty for 29er duties is easy? How much travel are you left with once done? Would it work on a tapered headset?

It's dead easy. You generally lose 30mm of travel (you can risk it with 20mm depending on the tyre, but most go with 30mm). Tapered head tube (I guess that's what you mean?) should be fine...just use the Project 321 adapter & a reducing headset for the bottom race, regular for top. You need to make sure your head tube isn't too tall though...P321 do two different adapters depending on the head tube length.

big_n_daft...can't help on making your own spacers. Not sure I'd risk it personally, but good luck 🙂

Thanks Pedalhead, it does sound straight forward and the 110mm I'd have left would be perfect - no joke intended :).
