Hi guys,

Firstly I know nothing about carbon, so, what's the difference between 3k and 2k carbon?

I need a light weight 29er hardtail for racing. Any suggestions (not stupidly expensive)
Or is it worth building one because there are cheap carbon frames on ebay.

Thanks

Ben

2k is quite unusual, more often you see 1k, 3k and 12k. Simple difference is how it looks, lower number = 'smaller' weave.

That will generally only be used for the external layer anyway to look nice, so it's not vastly relevant.

eBay frames are good, I had a 26" wheeled one, top tube was a little short, otherwise fine. On One frames are cheap and worth looking at.
