Im picking up my new Trek Fuel Ex 27.5+ in the morning, and im looking to put some mud tyres on for the winter - which means id like to put 29er wheels as i have some 29er mud tyres in the garage already. Would this work - i know you can put 27.5+ wheels on a 29er, but can you put 29er wheels on a 27.5+??
Fuel ex is designed as Plus and 29er compatible, the 29er and Plus models are the same frame (I think you're supposed to put it in High mode for Plus and Low mode for 29).

I hope so 😉
Mine is a 27.5+ model, but I have stuck on a pair of 29er Hope Enduros with nice big tyres on for the winter (Magic Mary/Hans Damph with ACRES of room left).
Took it up a pretty steep road climb last week and had no problems - think I heard somewhere that a lot of Trek employees run the longer fork with 29" wheels anyway!
Not really used it in anger yet due to injury, but my wee pootle this week suggests that it is going to be very, very good indeed 🙂
Norco 7.1 (HT, so not totally relevant) came with 27.5+, and 29ers are smaller looking so loads of room
