Anyone been looking for themselves?
My rear Michelin E-wild has split/stretched its sidewall, need a new tyre and stock is looking crap.. what to go for as a replacement?
Lot more Michelins in stock, hahaha no.. Magic Mary which would be my preferred choice TBH, but stock, what stock?
I've stuck a worn Eddie Current on for now, so not a panicking, but wasn't impressed by them, which is why I ended up with the E-wild (better tyre, till it failed). So just dig in & wait for a while, or is there anything worth buying?
Looking for a rear, but am happy to move my worn MM to the rear, if a great front tyre is available?
I have a WTB Trail boss tough casing, fast rolling 29 x 2.6 for grabs. I used it 5 times. paid 45 for it.
Bonty SE4? Or higher/lower numbers for more/less grrrip
@simonhuscroft no 29er stock atm unfortunately, CRC have some but not in Addix speedgrip, otherwise it would be an easy decision

Goodyear Newton - very impressed with mine on the back, good grip, not too draggy, lasting well.
interesting, seeing Goodyears listed was a surprise, but TBH I've never heard of their mtb tyre range before. Good to hear the feedback
I ordered some tyres from Specialized and they came next day.
Can't say I've been a fan of Spesch tyres lately, as I thought the older Butcher were ****. Though the HillBilly get a decent review/recommendation from Wideopen so definetly a potential option.
I've got one if these :
WTB Verdict TCS System 29" X 2.5" Light/High Grip, Tri-Tec triple compound, High Grip, Lightweight Casing with Slash Guard,
Done about 15 mile from new you can have for £25.
hmm interesting new option... I send you a message Renton

Magic Mary has NEVER been produced in Speedgrip compound...
Makes your decision easier I guess as CRC have stock!
My LBS has 29x2.6 Vittoria Mazza's in stock, or at least they did last weekend, so can pass on details if you want? Not sure if they are rated or tough enough for e-mtb use though.
@mboy grrr well hoped I'm stay clear of the trap that is compounds/model numbers, and made a rash assumption of what model is what.... I want (to know for now) the MM with the orange stripe in 29x2.6, which ones that? A "Super Trail, E-25, ADDIX Soft" guessing looking at that link, so is that a "SnakeSkin TL Easy Apex Tyre", cause it doesn't sound like it?
I've got one of those Goodyear Newtons above - it's a nice tyre but the 2.6" is really a 2.4".
The one at crc / wiggle is listed as addix soft which is the orange stripe version.
Depends how much puncture protection you are after really. The apex part (which came on 2.6 and 2.8s) refers to extra sidewall protection so will be pretty much like a new super trail I reckon.
If it were me I would run a super trail (or apex) front and super gravity rear but I’m pretty hard on tyres. If you don’t puncture very often you may be fine with the apex / super trail version on the rear. But I would only run a Mary on the rear if was riding constantly steep soft conditions as I imagine it will be a drag on uphills, flatter sections and hard pack trails.
And the above is assuming the description on the crc website is correct.
Fingers crossed that clears it up a bit.

What rim? Because mine on a 35mm rim is 2.5".
Actually good for me as a real 2.6" (WTB) was causing clearance problems.
Tweeks and SDJ had a few things last I checked
Schwalbe Big Betty are out there in that size, SuperGravity and SuperTrail
