I have a V2 29 frame and was wondering if anyone has put plus wheels on it?
Assuming you mean 27.5+ then I doubt it. An inflated 29x2.1 barely goes between the chain stays as they narrow slightly to the rear of where the 29er tyre sits.
The 29er Parkwood was just about 27.5+ doable with a 2.8 but that's got loads more chain stay clearance than the scandal.
Ive a v2 29er and don't think you'd get plus tyres in there...tyre clearance is bit of a weaker point on the Scandal. Running R.Ralph 2.35 29er and there's only about 5mm either side to the chainstays. The radius of my 27.5 wheel with N.Nic 2.35 is around 35-36cm and, compared to the scandal chainstays, puts it in the area of the chainstays thats still not likely to accommodate plus tyres but depends on what you consider plus
I've tried. Doesn't fit. (First version Scandal)
Got photos somewhere.
Edit: Found it

Scandal - 650B/Hugo 52mm rim/WTB 2.8" tyre does Not Fit
Have also tried with a 40mm 650B rim and a 3" tyre. No go.
Hey! That's my old bike! How are you liking it, Zippy? I hope it's still fun to ride.
I think I fitted a 2.25 Nevegal in the back no issues, although it's a horrible tyre.
You might want to try the track end swapouts in there to tune the chainstay length to get the tyre in the optimum place for clearance, and then use one of those DMR doofer things to hang the rear mech. I've the 10mm end caps and a Superstar 10mm thru axle around still if you need 'em for that, if it would help.
Other option is to try different rim widths to see if you can fit a biggerer tyre in - wider rim will change the profile. I have a WTB STP i25 rim (about 30mm external) on 142 thru with a 29x2.4 or 2.35 Maxxis Ardent you could try to see if it would fit. Should be fairly simple for me to change over the end caps - just shout.
