Do they generally fit? dumb ass question I know. I have a race that takes in sections of unmade road and wide section tyres are recommended. Of course the rest of the race is on good tarmac.

I had a 28's in the rear of my tcr advanced sl,

no problems.

Depends on the bike!

A Pinarello? Not a chance... 25's would be a struggle.

Plenty of more modest race bikes with bigger clearance should be able to fit them ok though I'd say.

Yes, most road bikes accept a 28c. It's generally the top size for road frames and in the UK is a very sensible choice!

It's what some of the pros will be running over the cobbles in the spring classics too

28c fits in a spesh dolce elite with about a mm to spare, if that helps in any way?
