Does anyone know the spoke pattern for a 28 hole wheel 3 cross. I can lace a 32 hole but never done a 28 hole.

How many spoke holes between the spokes that go in opposite directions (on a 32 hole its 9). Read somewhere that it may be 7.

How many between the spokes that run in the same direction (on 32 hole its 3).

Can't find a detailed picture on the web of a 28 hole wheel side on to count.

Thanks

They'll still just be in groups of 4 all the way round.  Nothing to stress about!

Yeah, I lace in 4 groups (of 7 in this case).

No idea about this method

The spokes on one side that cross directly will have 2 spoke holes between them at the hub. (For 3x it's 4, 1x is none).

At the rim it's always one hole between them.

I think I've got a 28-spoke wheel in the garage. I'll check and take a photo

Looking closer at that wheel looks like 3 holes in between the spokes that point the same way at the rim so the same as a 32 hole then ? Will try again tonight.

Yes, as per the first two responses, it's identical, you just have 7 sets of four spokes, not eight.
