Anybody tried fitting some of the new 27.5+ tyres (ie 2.8/3.0" widths) to Flow Ex rims, specifically Rocket Rons or Nobby Nics - the reason I ask is that Schwalbe recommend 40mm rims (whereas Flow Ex rims measure up smaller than this).
Just wondering if the tyres end up much narrower (ie defeating the point of using a Plus tyre) and how they ride on the smaller-than-recommended-rims?
I have a 3.0 NN and its huge. I wouldn't want it mounted on anything smaller than a 35mm rim.
I also have a 2.8 WTB Trailblazer and that comes up markedly smaller than the NN so may be worth a go on a Flow EX rim - cheap enough to try too.
