My 29er carbon Jeffsy with 150mm Lyriks is the best bike I’ve ever ridden.

Doesn’t massively help with your dilemma but no doubt some sensible STW folks will offer the usual...where do you ride and how do you ride technical based responses!

Good luck

I test rode both at Swinley, back to back with a mate.  Between us we failed to agree that one was better than the other.  Each time we felt the one we were riding was the best.

If you are very experienced you may feel the 29'er need a little more effort to get it into a turn, but I'm talking tiny differences, nothing you will notice unless you ride it back to back repeatedly.

Compared to the Capra I have (in 27.5 inch flavour), I did notice the braking was better on the 29er, due to a larger contact patch, but its very hard to notice and very small.

Also the 29er had a slightly shorter top tube.

The biggest difference would be down to tyres or tyre pressures.

I bought the 29er as I have a 27.5 Capra and wanted something different.  My mate bought the 27.5 as its his only bike.

So, if you don't need the 29er for size reasons, get the cheaper 27.5 version.

Oh, and I've also ridden my Capra in 27.5 flavour on the Wall at Afan and Cwn Carn and then did them on the Jeffsy 29er.  Neither was better, just slightly different.

Same at Woburn back to back.

So the different wheel size didn't feel better or worse, the biggest difference was the Capra had a slightly slacker head angle which meant I could chuck it into techy corners without a care in the world.

I run the Jeffsy in its slackest  mode.

Possibly not much help as I have not ridden the 29er.  I have the Jeffsy CF Pro Race 27.5" hands down the best bike I have ever ridden, never thought I would find a bike that I liked more than my Lappiere spicy 916.  Which unfortunately lived up to the 'snappier' name.  Climbs well, works as a hill bike, but really handles itself when you point it down.  I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Carbon 29er here.

Boy, it pics up speed on the downs. Slightly noodly on the ups but that is more to do with my setup than the bike.

You'll love either one in reality but I'm in love with 29ers now. Lol

I have a 29er Jeffsy that I love for what I ride.  Ran  into a bunch of guys on Capras in the Alps this summer, including a guy on a 29 Capra.  We had a chat, and I said if the 29er Capra had existed when I got my Jeffsy, I'd have had a tough choice.  The one on the 29 Capra had come from 29er Jeffsy and said that he'd never looked back.  So I suspect that your question is actually 27.5 or 29 Jeffsy or 29 Capra.

Don't thank me just yet... 😀
