Toying with the idea of switching my hardtail to 27.5 from 26 having just bought a 27.5 full suss with modern geo and 2.6 wide trail tyres. The 26er hardtail seems tiny now!
Would need to move kit across so trying to avoid buying much more than frame, fork and wheels; therefore ideally 31.6 seatpost and threaded bb. Not fussed as to which material it’s made from...
What’s the STW recommended list?
Bfe?
Pace 627. Looks great on paper. I might finally get around to riding mine for the first time on Friday...
Btw it’s a boost frame but I’ve used non boost forks and a boost adapter kit for the rear wheel. I was buying a new group set (gx eagle) anyway but you might have to do something about the cranks/chainring if transferring over
Literally billions of hardtail frames that have a threaded bb and 31.6 seat tube. What sort of riding are you going to use it for? Fork travel?
I’ve just swapped my 26er hardtail for a 650b one and it’s brilliant. Went for a frame that was on offer at a bargain price although before that I was looking at similar ish but more expensive frames.
I went with a 140mm fork / modernish geometry / normal size tyres / mid range sort of build kit.
My full suss is a long low slack enduro bike so I wanted something playful and poppy for the hardtail. The reach is therefore a chunk shorter (445 vs 481 I think) and the head angle less slack (66 vs 64.5 I think).
I’ve used it for some mellow trail centre trails a few times (including a couple of night rides) and yesterday I went playing on a local pump track and then in the local woods. Loving it so far!
BFe, plenty of clearance for 2.6" tyres, I love mine!

True, but only the newest will fit 2.6" tyres in there.
What's your budget?
Budget £400 ish
I've got a 2018 size large Whyte 909 frame with a Whyte dropper if you're interested? Should have it early next week after my LBS has switched everything over to a new Santa Cruz 5010 frame.
Drop me a message if you're interested. It's a fantastic frame, but I've only got room for one MTB and need to sell.
Fits 2.8 inch tyres.
Bird Zero AM is an option. Slightly above your £400 budget but you did say (ish).
Had mine since June and it's brilliant, always looking forward to riding it.
