27.5 Frame for a growing lad

Have a 237.5 MmmBop with all my expensive 27.5 kit from years back on it, but size small frame - my lad has very much outgrown it

Looking around for a cheap but decent 27.5 frame to replace it with, but no luck so far - Cotic and Stanton outlets have XL BFE/Slacklines that would be absolutely ideal but one size too big. Would happily have another Ragley (was impressed by the quality) but none of those around either. No hardtails in 27.5 at Bird or Pace either, or Alpkit

Any other cheap decent 27.5 frames about that will take a long fork?

Does it have to be a hardtail? I'll ask around.

Does it have to be new...and a 27.5? I have a vintage 19 inch 2001 Orange Patriot frame hanging up in my garage that really needs to be given away to someone who'll love it as much as I did. More than welcome to it if you want to swing by my house in Stirlingshire.

Yeah, he does't use it enough off road to warrant the cost and weight of full suss

I'm not in the UK, so the hassle of second hand not really worth it.

Thank you for the offer of the patriot, not what I'm after, but appreciate it.

There are a few Ragley frames for sale on FB Marketplace - mostly medium, but there's a large Blue Pig in Guisborough

*edit - just seen your last comment

How much fork travel do you have?

The Sonder (Alpkit) Transmitter is currently a bargain at £200, officially takes a 150mm fork but I'd happy fit a 160mm to it.

Sonder Transmitter

or on ebay

That would be ideal, but I get a big "Sorry we cannot currently ship this product" banner on it

Have you looked at Dartmoor bikes? They do a Primal and a Hornet frame, both in 27.5", both around the £250-300 mark. I got a 29 Primal to build up with some spare bits and it's a great bike for just messing about on.

26bikes is where I bought from and looks to be the only place in the UK stocking them.

Edit - just seen you're not in the UK, so should be easier as they seem to be bigger in the EU

Even via ebay?  Their exclusion list is pretty tight and if you're in any of those locations, you're unlikely to be getting a frame sent from anyone.

Or maybe just drop them a line and see if the can help.  It looks like they're keen to clear out their Transmitter stock.

Dartmoor one of the few options I've found, yes, they ship from Germany

Mostly I just want a 27.5 BFe I think, such a pity that one on the outlet is XL, I guess that's the reason it's there

Commencal Meta HT/AM V2 - seem to be available in Europe @ 600 euros in Large?

Would attach a picture, but the forum seems broken for a change...

Yeah, you're seeing a UK price without VAT (which you'd pay when it hits customs)

The large size for that frame is expecting 29er wheels, so think that's ruled out, sadly
