Before I commit to summer tyres I will run them with tubes rather than going tubeless straight away.
29 tubes cost a lot more than 26 . So can I run them , and if yes should I go thicker than normal?
No. 29" is essentially a 700c wheel with a wider rim.
Yes you can run them but they are a tight fit. I've not done it personally but my mate has.
Yep they fit fine. Always carried only 1 tube on my trek 69er as a 26 will easily stretch and I'd fold a 29er tube. If 29er folded being lumpy is an issue, mtfu.
yes, they're fine. I did it for a few months and while it's a bit trickier to get them in they work perfectly well.
yep work fine no problem 😀
Definitely. Got them in both front and rear on mine. FWIW part inflating them makes them easier to fit.
Never used 29" on mine, but planning to get just one to stick in the camelbak as a spare. Only reason being trying to fix a flat one freezing night a few months ago, & trying to stretch the tube to get it in was just an added faff at the trailside. But it was cold. I really I should just MTFU shouldnt I... 🙂
i just use 26 yeah - but it is an arse when you get a puncture in the ice.
I always mount my tyres motorbike stylee. Inflate tube a bit put it in tyre then stick on wheel. No twisted tubes or pinches.
another yes from me too. part inflate first.
bit of a necessity as it is still hard finding them.
works better than 700c ones.
