Evening all
Im on the hunt for a decent rigid fork for a retro build, need a long, straight steerer and vbrakes. 26"
Anywhere you could recommend?
I've a pair of salsa cromoto. I always ran them disc so unscrewed the v brake bosses.... they should be in the spares bin somewhere although they are the kind of thing that is easily lost. The steerer should be a good length. If interested I measure, rummage and photo tomorrow. Oh and 26" but for corrected geometry frames so axle to crown is. Errr 420mm iirc... i'll measure that too
Absolutely no idea what these are worth.
It's a 1 1/8 headset
Do on one still do their steel fork? I bought one for about £50 a few years ago.
Or Exotic Forks...

Identiti do a set as do Stridsland, one or the other will fit your budget.
Plenty of Project 2 forks on Ebay...
@neilnevill ashmonkeys son here, I'm definitely interested! Any ideas on the steerer?
Depending how retro they may be too long at 420mm, just a heads up. Uncorrected should be 400mm.
Not trying to crap on a sale, Cromotos are good forks!
I'll have a measure and Hunt for the v brake bosses, and get back to you. Squirrel is correct mind, if the retro frame wasn't designed for suspension forks the cromoto are taller than the original forks. It'll work but be a little slack.
