I fancy trying a carbon fork for the front of an XC weenie build 😳

I see that there are a plethora of options - many seem to be made in the same factory.

Pace's RC31 look a good bet but are hellishly expensive.

Any recommendations? Any to steer (no pun intended) clear of?

Exotic are fine if the logo's don't put you off. Lots of options for a-c length too.

Another vote for Exotic here - light, cheap, good choice.

Tempted by a pair of those Exotics for my Simple...

Anything I should know before my itchy finger clicks the buy button?

had a few pairs of exotics now,26 and proper size 😉 never had a problem, highly recommended.
also had a fair few rc31's,again never had an issue, but have seen a pair break,Pace were totally not interested as they were out of warranty.
you can run a semi fat front on them tho ! (47mm rim, larry tyre)
got a pair of niner carbons an all, they are the dogs !

for budget buy,you won't beat exotics.

I've been very happy with the Nuke Proof ones, but had to go back to suspension forks after smashing up my collar bone (any rigid forks are too harsh now - it's no slight on the carbon).

Hmm, can dip into my new road wheels fund and order these now.

Lets face it, posh wheels can wait 'til next summer right?!

Lots of options for a-c length too.

does that mean it's ok to run something else besides 465/470mm a-c for a 29er? ie. 445mm a-c

Pace all the way I loved mine before I moved back to Sheffield and had a need for a real fork again

Just how strong are these exotics forks? i.e. are they up to wheels off the ground fun, I see that they have a DJ fork so I'm assuming that they do do models designed for a bit of abuse?

i run exotic 29er forks on my 26er cannondale (it corrects the headshock geometry). i think they are the bees knees.

iirc, the exotic forks are exactly the same as a certain (and rather more expensive) carbon rigid fork out there... just different branding.

a definite bargain in all respects.

I liked how my RC31's rode, but they broke. Large crack in the magnesium lower 🙁

Done, couldn't resist the Exotics at £103.

Looking forward to a kilogram off the front end 🙂
