After a bike for 10yo lad, would like a rigid mtb, new one preferably less than £300 so its fair with older brother. Hard to find places with stock, hes 139cm but growing fast.
Any good ideas?

CycleSprog are also on Facebook, and are a mine of useful info on kids cycling.
As a WiggleCRC person I'm going point you at the Vitus 24 - though it sounds like he will grow out of it very soon. We also have the new Nucleus Kids 24 and 26 but these are hardtails and above your budget... as a kid's MTB Club leader I'd say 'Frog' are great at this pricepoint and CycleSprog rate 'Squish'.

If you don't mind used I've got a Hardrock frame that my kids have grown out of, 13" I think, with 100mm SIDS, race face cranks, avid brakes, some light wheels/ tubeless. All very good condition. Would be under budget.
Also have one for sale in good condition. On one Fleegle bars been added for extra width.

Would be well below budget.
Whyte 403. Over budget but a surprising amount of bike for the cash. Kryton Jnr is also ten but shorter at 137 so this should last him a while.
Doesn't look like a "kids" bike either.
I picked up a knackered xs Commencal Normal off ebay and blinged it with some nice bits mainly from people on here. Surprising amount of people have nice 26" wheels/forks etc they will never use and just haven't got round to getting rid off.
