Planning on moving my 2.4" Ardent to the rear of my bike and putting a 2.6 up front. Quite like the look and reviews of the Maxxis Forekaster. Any opinions or alternatives? Trails here are generally dry, dusty, gravelly and can be a few rocks n stumps.

What width are your rims? The WT tyres are optimised for 30-35mm width. And you also have to remember wider tyres mean more weight, make sure you're happy with that. What I'm getting at is if your rims aren't 30-35mm, you could end up with a sub-optimal and heavier setup, with no real benefit.

If your rims are 30-35mm ignore me 😀

I've got Spank Oozy rims which are 29.5mm internal. The reviews I've seen were 30mm internal with the 2.6" so I think I'm good.

Went out today. Got a bit of mud on my tyre. Panicked. 😉

I'm afraid I have no idea what tyre to suggest for such strange conditions. Rocking a 2.5 Shorty at the moment.

I'm looking out for the 2.6" magic Mary in snakeskin. Should be huge!
