So i have wrecked my On One 456 frame and looking to replace but no one appears to manufacture 26" frames any more?

What are the thoughts on using 26" wheels and forks on a 650B frame?

Also anyone experience of the Merlin Malt + which looks great value?

Might not be relevant, but I'd go second hand personally.. 26" frames/bikes go for nothing

Get a 650b frame. The 26 fork and wheels will be fine, but as parts become less easy to obtain you can upgrade.

If you want to stay 26", I'd go with second hand also. It's a bit of a double edged sword as you can get some bargains if people want to simply off load past used kit, but the flip side is that other people (such as me) have a few 26" frames that they won't let go for the silly low amount they fetch - so hang on to them.

A 650b frame might be ok but you'll likely need adaptors / new headset and maybe a kit or different axle for the rear wheel.

I'd get another secondhand 26 incher for next to nothing. I think cotic do a 26inch bfe new which is burley like your 456.

I bought an orange clockwork as it was the only frame I could find that would accept my old 135mm 26" wheels.

It is very very low at the bb. Which is great everywhere with no rocks.

I'd take a 26" frame if I could have found one to fit and take my wheels.

Its easier with 142mm bolt through as lots of frames will take those

As has already been said if you want to stay 26" you can pick up a used frame for not a lot of £.

Re the Merlin Malt +, I've no experience with it, it does seem very good value but the geometry seems quite dated. More importantly however is that the 27.5+ tyre has a similar diameter to a 29er with a 2.2-2.3" tyre. I don't think this will work well with your existing 26" kit if that was your intention?

There must be 456 frames on ebay, the last ones were the evo carbon ones i think?

Having said that, be careful not to just flog a dead horse for the sake of it. Bikes get better all the time, and at the same time there are bargains to be had. Decathlon have 29" 120mm motion control judys for £175, theres always £15 rims available somewhere. At some point you just get a better bike for only marginally more than a 10yr old one.

Cotic's Longshot Bfe is sold as a 27.5 & 26" frame (£150 off in the Summer Sale at the moment) although I've no idea whether it'd be a viable replacement for a 456.

--- Edit ---

Sorry, just seen that only XS left in stock.

Post up what frame size you want, and what length of forks you'd be plugging in. Somebody might offer something suitable, that happened for me.

It's been done to death. Just put 26" wheels in a 650B frame, you'll be fine (Switchback + 26" here.)

26” wheels into 650b frame until you fancy moving up to the correct size wheels. As long as you don’t go for something with a huge BB drop or intended for 650+ You should be ok

Yep, I have 26" in a Rocket 275. It's class! A monster sledge, also because of the offset rear bushings and 170mm forks..
