Hi all,
Following on from forum advice I stuck on some offset bearings for my 2012 orange five am. I ended up dropping the bb from 355mm to about 348 and taking out the HA to roughly 65 deg.
I loved the change and the bike rides better for it. However after a year I am looking at ways of dropping the bb further...
Does anyone knows how slack an angleset I could fit (tapered ht, tapered fork) and how much it would potentially drop the bb?

I have a 2013 Five...interested in the off set bushes...which ones (please link) and what do you feel the improvements are? Descending only or climbing as well?

Find out the dimensions of your tapered head tube (there are different versions)
Look on works components website
Its a little fiddly as you have to select angle before headset dimensions, but check them all (1, 1.5, 2degrees) and you'll see what options you have

There may or may not be other options from other manufacturers, but I've only ever checked works

Works -1.5 headset will fit tapered headtube/fork. I had one in my five and offset bushes (mate has it now and loves it). Sends the seatube a bit slack but I was prepared to take that slight negative in exchange for the increase in stability on the downs.

The headset won't change the seat angle, any gain in headset stack height will be cancelled out by the fork lying lower and longer. It's the offset bushes that change both head and seat angle equally. Just check your particular variety of tapered head tube before you buy a new headset - I've been able to get a -2 deg one with a tapered steerer, replacing a ZS44/ZS56 (the Works headset is EC44/ZS56 to fit the upper bearings in with so much offset from the angle change). I don't think the Orange tspered headtubes tend to be zero stack though...

Unless you are adding an external cup of some sort then surely slackening the head angle with an angleset will increase the seat angle.

Picked up a 2013 Five S at the end of the summer with 140 front / rear but ride an Alpine 2014 (26er) too so quite used to slacker HA but have to say the Five rides very neutrally and I've done some very steep runs on it that scare me equally when sat on the Alpine.

Burgtec seem to have the required offset bushings for a Five.

Quite expensive but they'll last a long time.

What Fork travel are you running on the Five with the angle sets? A quick review of how it changed the ride of the Five would be much appreciated. Thanks.

160mm fork on mine with offset bushes (both). Initially found the front lifting a bit on climbs but you soon get used to it and shift body around to sort that. Find it great on the descents

I've got stevede's old Works slackset installed in my 2013 Five now. Not had a ride on it yet but already running offset bushings at both ends and a 160mm Deville fork. It good. I like it.

I fitted bushings from OffsetBushings.com and they are great. Pretty cheap and made the bike much better on descents. With Fox 36s 160mm the HA is about 55 deg. The steering can be a little floppy at low, speed and I'm considering sliding the saddle a little forward to help on climbs. At the moment I have to make a conscious effort to move forward to keep the front wheel down.
The head set codes are zs44/28.6 and zs56/40. Guessing that angleset will not add any extra height as mine are zero stack? Just interested to see if they will drop the BB any further.

I've got a -1* Works headset in my Orange Alpine 2012) and offset bushings. I wasn't sure which headset I needed so emailed Works and they replied within 24 hours.

I'd happily slacken it out further but can't afford it (currently measures in at 64* HA)

Works components just replied to my email. I can fit a -2 deg headset, that is zero stack on the bottom and external on top. They reckon the BB drop will be about 3mm.I am very interested in trying this.
I will report back on my bike with a 345mm BB height and 63deg HA....
