My Conti Sport Contacts 1.6 have had it - rear wore through to tube today (bang!).
They've been great except hopeless grip in wet.
Any recommendations for fast, puncture resistant and grippy ?

Halo Twin Rails for me. Commuted everyday and had one puncture in 6 months. Surprisingly grippy when required.
I like my maxxis overdrives - I'd get another set.
Scwalbe City Jets, first puncture in 2 years the other week.
marathon plus supreme. not cheap, but mine seem to want to last forever and never puncture. you pays y'money, you takes your choice..
Schwalbe City Jet, the affordable alternative to Schwalbe Marathon Plus (which I would buy if I wasn't so thrifty). They dont seem to wear down. I go 1.95 front, 1.5 rear
edit: just notice the grippy requirement. These are ok but terrible on wet ironworks
