Looking on the SRAM site, and then bike-discount.de it seems Rockshox have new 26" forks both tapered and straight steerer.
They also seem to have a decent selection of 26" tubeless tyres.
It 26" becoming popular again, or is it solely due to people being willing to spend more on childrens bikes (mentioned on the sram site)?

Oooh, and in 80mm travel. Could replace my dukes on my 97 Kilauea with some of them... No QR axle option it seems though... Unless I missed that
I'm not sure if its coming back but it's great to see that there are options for new forks as that is the likely reason to retire some otherwise great frames.
Demand I guess, there's a few new 26" bikes but a hoard of old ones needing replacements too. The price of second hand 26" forks is through the roof so it now makes a good economic case for SRAM to brush off the old molds and produce a batch.
Long as they do not make 26" QR fork as last Wednesday sold my 11 year old hummer which had ridged forks on it to keep it going as I could not buy new suss forks.
Must be something similar to where coffins rise out of the ground due to flooding. No question about 26 being dead. Just need a shovel and a bit of ballast to go in the box.
26", straight steerer and quick release

Great news. Took a long time time to track down that type of fork when I rebuilt my old Soul 5-6 years ago.
Is that the second hand market collapsing? My last couple of straight steerer forks were going to be my retirement fund if prices kept rising.
Should have maybe held on to my rebas instead of selling them. Still got more than what i paid for them + the refurb kit
Funnily enough I was about to post asking about 26" forks. Is it still possible to get something that's straight steerer, QR and 140mm travel?
those rebas have an air chart (and, presumably, damping circuit) up to 8 and a half stone. Designed for groms.
*edit. What Spin said
Dammit, no V brake mounts on the 30 anymore.
Should have got some while I could.
Not to worried 29ERs are far more fun.
Not exactly a 26er Comeback.
They're now basically labeling 26ers as Kiddie sized wheels, at least in SRAM's eyes:
Little riders with big dreams. Until now, a premium fork was tough to find for smaller riders. Welcome Reba 26, a fork specifically tuned for lighter riders to simplify the ride experience and allow for a lower pressure range.
Essentially that's what lots of people have already done with older 26" Rebas for their kid's bikes:
Reduce spring pressure, change oils for 2.5Wt, extra top-out spacing to reduce travel/A-C height if needed.
That’s a shame. I’ve basically not ridden since mini zbonty arrived nearly 5 years ago and have the waistline to prove it. A decent straight steerer fork may tempt me back as no intention of buying a new bike.
The Tech gumph on those Rebas isn't aimed at adults, that's for sure:

Motion Control™
Imagine riding on the moon. Rolling hills, crushed rock blasted out of craters… craters. There’s no gravity so you wouldn’t even need a chairlift. Unfortunately you can’t ride on the moon. There’s lots of gnarly terrain on earth. But, earth has gravity so you’ll need suspension that climbs as well as it descends. With our Motion Control damper technology you’ll do just that.
Lot to pay out of your pocket money, though!
Shame, I thought that might get my Privateer frame off the wall.

I know it's just marketing aimed at kids, but FFS.
That's not aimed at kids - it's for readers of MBUK
The funniest thing is they want ~£500 for what is essentially a ~15 year old fork design (OK it's probably had some new castings and paint) Nothing wrong with it as such, but given the design is a very well established (32mm/solo air/MoCo) that has probably been cost engineered to death by now, the asking price is a clear pisstake...
Lots of kids will be able to find a pretty similar pair of Rebas on the C2W Boardman their old man rode a handful of times and threw in the shed a decade ago.
As with most things SRAM now the real aim will be the OEM market, people are probably willing to spend more on their kids bikes now. So the real evidence of it's success is if it displaces a few Suntour forks from the front end of some major brand's children's bikes...

Yeah, Kids...
Did RS ever stop selling 26" forks, for years when people have talked about 26" obsolesce they've often been pointed to the German sites to find where they can find new 26" forks in all the old standards.
MY2013 was the last of the mainstream 26"s wasn't it? That's pretty decent support really.
Did RS ever stop selling 26″ forks,
They used to list 26" forks and straight steerers as options, but I think it would have been hard to find anybody actually stocking the less popular options.
Demand I guess, there’s a few new 26″ bikes but a hoard of old ones needing replacements too.
Could this also be something to do with the 'Right to Repair' legislation coming in?
Could this also be something to do with the ‘Right to Repair’ legislation coming in?
I think it's possibly just because there are multitudes of 'old' 26" MTBs in weekly use all over the world and RS what to service that market.
IMHO we often get a short-changed slightly in the UK when it comes to maintenance / legacy parts, the German online stores at least always seem to have the sort of stuff that CRC / Wiggle / Merlin et al don't want to stock, rebuild kits for brake levers, brake levers themselves, service kits for pedals and all those little odds and sods you can fix stuff with, it seems in the UK they rather you replace the offending part, or ideally buy a new bike.

Sounds brilliant tbh <orders 26er>

🙁 Cancels 26er
It never really went away. I only own 26" wheel mtbs with straight steerers, QR 100/135 wheels and triple chainsets. Enough spare bits to do me for life too.
Me too, downshep ! Just wish I’d stocked up with forks and decent 8 speed. Had to catch 9 speed....

If only you could somehow reverse that.
Oh, wait.
Those forks will be exactly the same as the old ones, if Fingers Crossed can thrash 20" Machete J-Units on BMX's I guarantee these will be just as capable.
