My freehub spring has corroded, everything else is working great and I just put brand new Enduro bearings in and I replaced the wheel bearings.

Given they are advertised as "DT Swiss Internals" I figured I could just buy the "DT Swiss 3 pawl kit" (as they are 3 pawl) that arrived earlier.

I was greatly miffed to find the spring with the kit is smaller which was the only bit I actually needed. (and hence won't cover the pawls)
Short of trying to order a new freehub with dubious availability at the moment (after just spending on bearings and a useless pawl kit) I'll go with just finding a spring that fits. As near as I can measure the one that came off it's 25mm diameter... so surely there is a way to just buy a spring or a cheap freehub with the same diameter or even bigger I could cut?

Campag pawl springs I have in the workshop measure approx 25mm OD with an 8mm overlap in the relaxed position, I think they are FH-RE114 (no guarantee, original label is long gone)

Ebay ones as well (from china)

Pretty sure the last dt 3pawl hub I pulled apart the spring didn't cover the entire body. There was a gap between the ends of the spring but located in such a way that it still covered all 3 pawls.

BigYan ... cheers.
Meantime I found a campy/fulcrum one in the UK for a fiver. States 24mm nominal diameter but overlaps and I just need a circular one (should arrive by Monday) so I'll try trimming it.

Wondering if I use cable snippers or dremmel or bolt cutters?
The dremmel seemed to work well (if slowly) on spring steel pedal inserts

Tried that .. (sadly) but thanks.
The one I took off is snapped but obviously covered more of the groove than the new DT one. Most it gets to is 2.5 pawls ... the difference in size is pretty significant.
