Because 26ers are categorically faster than 29ers and 650b over an XC course, the reduced weight and frontal area of a 25" rim and tyre will be the new standard in mountain biking from 2015 onwards

This middle standard offers the best of both worlds, between the consistency and familiarity of 26 inches, and the jumping ability of 20 inch.
