Hi.

not gonna bore you all but I'm new.

got no more than £2,500 to spend on a road bike.

need : lightness, relatively stiff, hill climber w/speed.

shortlist so far: BMC GF01 DISC, CANNONDALE SYNAPSE CWRBON ULT, CANYON ENDURACE CF 9.0 SL.

cheers.

Some disc, some not disc. Do you want disc?

Also a bit confusing as the bikes in the shortlist aren't really matching the "need".

Trek Emonda SL 6 maybe? Light frameset and a bit under budget so some spare cash to do a bit of weight wheenieing.

You could go for 6.9kg of rim braked niceness or 5 Star Cycling Weekly reviewed Di2'ness

Both within budget, light, fast, stiff and climby.

You want a light stiff hill climber then have a shortlist of sportive bikes, some with discs?

The best Supersix you can find in your budget from Paul's Cycles? You can get one with Sram Red and ksyrium wheels for substantially under 2K so you could by another pair of pimp wheels?

Or a Canyon Ultimate CF that hits your price point.

Yeah my bad man! them bikes aren't really stiff light bill climbers, but they caught my eye. the GF01's frame, and the value for components on the canyon etc.

I'll take into consideration your suggestions, just spotted the GIANT TCR ADVANCED pro 1 at £2,6k, what's people's thoughts on that?

Buy it. TCR's are superb bikes. Seems a much better match for your remit if the budget allows.

If you're new then spend half that much on a new bike.

In a year you'll know what you really need and what will actually fit, at which point you flog the old bike and buy a keeper.
