Well been dragged kicking and screaming back into BMX by some friends and ended up buying a free agent ratio (lots of crap fitted) what brands for hubs and rims and brakes?
Been looking at profile racing so far and halo for rims
Any suggestions?
Also is it rude to run a longer seat post as the stubby one fitted is pointless
Long BMX seatpost is equivalent to riding a 26" MTB with triple chainrings, a narrow riser bar, bar ends, pedals with toe clips and straps, reflectors, and a dork disk! 😡
Stick a dropper on it
I had one a few years back (a race bike coming in at around 21lbs) and used it with a super long seat post.
It was my SS off road bike for a while and with 24" wheels you really have to work hard to keep going.
Also did the same on a 20" BMX but gave up as that is really hard work.
It is a good way of seeing that wheel size really does matter....
What are you using for?
I had a Specialized 24" cruiser for a while. my mates called it an "old mans bmx" but at 6'2" I just felt slightly less like I'd stolen a kids bike than I did on a bmx.
Local trails were built by 20" wheel riders so the jumps didn't flow as well with the longer wheelbase and bigger wheels (plus I was/am crap at jumping of course)
I'd just get a proper bmx do at least it's only skill level and clothing choice that can be sources of mockery by achingly cool and supremely talented kids.
Cheers guys lol it's just for going out with some old friends over the bmx track at Norwich just mucking about fun more than serious stuff. I found a longer post from snafu at another shop today lol and some slightly taller bars should be good for now been 20 years this year since I last went near a BMX track.
