So I wanted a clutch mech for my much loved Pitch Pro.

But to get the whole drivetrain is too much cash. 🙁

Soooo I am heavily into retro mountain bikes so I go to my (very anodised) parts store.....

Hmmmm don't want to use the 2 NOS ones but this one has been used a bit.... Wonder if it'll fit a modern mech??

Bingo!!!!

My bike is all anodised brown and gold (70's disco baby!!) so you could argue it doesn't match.... But what's more 70's than shiny purple??

😀

You need a DCD and Crud Claw to finish that off.

I had a blue one with the stronger spring fitted

That is the stronger spring.

They actually work very very well. I've used them on my retro bikes and they make the drivetrain pretty much silent.

what you want is to replace the spring with one of those dampers you get for self closing kitchen drawers 🙂

Was funny putting it on just after installing my new 203mm SLX brakes.

I'm impressed you have a ladder warmer.

Weird thing is, I am actually buying a dropper post soon. Can't see the point in replacing a drivetrain that works perfectly though.

I can remember making a few of these when I worked in't factory, and crud claws with aluminium combs and them plates to stop chain suck - must confess that the sheet metal crud catcher was not as succesful as once envisioned, made an awfuldin when stuff hit it.
*skulks off to the bike lair to see if they're still hanging around*
