My front disc was worn out so I thought i'd upsize the 180mm (for which the caliper direct mounts to the fork) to a c200mm.
Bought 203mm disc and mount C (forgetting that it was direct 180 not direct 160). Ok, so I figure I need a +23 mount. Surely that's Mount H - converts a post 160 to 183, hence should also do a 183 to 203?
But that doesn't work either - seems to come up a few mm too small and the disc hits the caliper. I've tried it both ways up. This MTBR thread seems to suggest the H should work.
- Mount C - Post Caliper to Post (F-203/R-203)
- Mount E - Post Caliper for Fox 40 (F-203)
- Mount H - Post Caliper to Post (F-183/R-183)
- Mount L - Post Caliper to Post (F+R 160-180)
- Mount M - Post Caliper to Post (F+R 160-200)
What have i missed?
any pm7 to 203 mount
I run a magura qm26 on my 36>203 (FSA brakes but PM is still PM
it' H on mine.
but I do remember it wasn't as straight forward as it should have been.
E4 to 2019 Grip2 36's is an "L" mount on mine. 200mm disc, though
200mm Hope disc, not 203mm, though

That makes sense - confirms a 160-180 mount works as 180-200. Can't work out why it's not working on my 203 with an H.
Will give Hope a call tomorrow. Definitely not running.
I know Shimano's +23 mount was a +20 mount with some washers at one point but Hope specifically make different mounts.
Generic +20 with a couple of washers here...
Sounds daft but have you tried the mount the other way up? Can't remember which Hope mount i was using but i had to flip it to what looked like the norm and it worked perfectly.
I would have thought H would do the trick.
On a similar theme my Fox 36 with 180 direct mounts, with Hope caliper, 200mm Hope disc and Hope K adaptor - still needs a small washer under the lower bolt to avoid binding...
My friend has the same issue - I think it might just be a thing?!

Now you mention it I had the same thing. Thin washer sorted it out.
I used a xtr one for a 203 shimano rotor with a avid caliper on my lyriks. No spacers.
