Surprised to see nothing on here about SC 2019 models / colorways / news.

Looks like there's going to be a v3 Bronson with a lower linkage like the Nomad4; 150mm travel, 65 degree headangle, upto 170mm forks.

Also seems to be a v2 5010 in the works.

New colours for the Nomad (thank god!), HTLT and Tallboy.

3rd July release date apparently.

Anyone heard anything else?

Given how quickly the Nomad sold in the UK last year, if you want a Bronson I'd be getting one pre-ordered ASAP. I've only heard the same as you, ie the Nomad linkage design in the new Bronson.

Colourways?

There is Colorway, because Yanks talk like that and don't use 'u' in 'Color'.

Or there's Colour Scheme, or just 'Colour'.

Anyway, ****rant over, erm no. The ugly linkage seems obvious gives it's migration from V10 to Nomad.

I think the new bronson is too similar to the nomad. Who needs 170mm fork for trial riding, thats what the nomad is for. Hope the new 5010 fills the bronson gap.

Does seem like an odd lineup beginning to appear - perhaps the v3 Bronson will be a popper version of the Nomad - from the geometry figures I've seen the Bronson has a steeper seat tube so may help with climbing.

What's trial riding? 🙂

170 will be an option I'd imagine, not standard. I have my V2 Bronson set up 160/150, as I wanted a bit of an all rounder, which it is. I don't imagine another 10mm up front would make a huge difference tbh, it pedals brilliantly, quickest bike over any terrain I've had.

There is very little in terms of difference between the Bronson, Nomad and even the hightower, but SC sell so bloody many of them that it doesn't really seem to matter.

PS - I never like the 'mannequin' coloured Nomad when I first saw it, but it's rather nice in the 'flesh' 🙂

I'm sure plenty have, used to have a mate who would slip me some sneak pics on the promise that they were not shared before the release date 😉

I guess STW has a nice Press Release and maybe a test/demo from a launch trip ready to drop next week.

Also will there be a new 650b model?

As the Nomad has gone full park rat, and the bronson has had to step up to #fullenduro race spec. Does this mean the 5010 becomes what the bronson was, and do we need a new trail bike?

Similar to the new Blur after the Tallboy went (and I cant beleive i'm typing this) Downcountry

Removing the wheelsize blinkers it's the Hightower that fills that void with the LT covering the enduro market too

New bronson looks like a nomad v3 in terms of geometry but with the new suspension (vulnerable hearings and shock?) and 2.6 tyres as standard.

Should be great but I suspect it's the last gasp of 650b?

Very tempted by the Bronson if reviews indicate it pedals decently.

Which was the last SC that did have one?

Pretty sure they still come with a bolt on fm mount, for those that need it.

The symmetric rear end prevents a front mech mount. The last ones that took front mechs were Tallboy, Bronson and 5010 - all asymmetric swingarms.

My understanding is that the 5010 is single front only. No mounts for front shifter.

Well the cat left the bag officially today, never thought I'd say it but the grey looks good 🙂

Bronson is now the (not so old) Nomad.

Still don't like the shock mount down there. Horrible mud trap. And never liked the name Bronson for some reason.

At least the 5010 is retaining the rough design with some tweaks. Do we really need the wider BB though?

Should be great but I suspect it’s the last gasp of 650b?

Looking around local trails, vast majority on 650b. A few 29 and still some 26 (I've still got at least one). 29 has its place and moving into Enduro/Trail geometry territory, but it's a step too far for some (too big for me, too slow accelerating, tricky steering in tight twisty). 650b is the best compromise for an industry that doesn't want to support three wheel sizes (and wanted to make 26ers splash out more cash), and provide a something for everyone.

Loving the grey bronson. But it's quite heavy unless you get very spendy? 34lb for aluminium? I guess the complexity of the glory hole design adds some weight. I would be a bit worried about the shock placement for mud/ grit action too. It will be interesting to see how the design works for higher use but I guess it's tested with the nomad

Not far off the weight of my Alu Commencal though, it's a burly build really,

Kinda short (490 in XL) and kinda steep 66deg.

No envelopes being pushed at SC with this one

Interesting to see that the new Bronson is being offered with 27.5 or 27.5+ wheel options, whilst they have dropped the 27.5+ option from the factory Hightower builds.

The Bronson launch video is just brilliant!

And those tall head tubes.

It's a 'meh' from me.

Do you need to push envelopes to make good bikes?

Cant say they inspire me. Im sure they will sell shed loads of them but they are abit dull with conservative geometry.

Not for me. Both on the conservative side & I'm hardly an evangelist for super tanker geometry. And they made the Bronson ugly.

Was hoping the Hightower would have been pushed a bit, but no such luck there either. And just spotted the frames are now well north of £3k so even at trade they are disgustingly expensive.

A. Quick Google put them in the same range as specialized and trek frames. There is an alu frame there too

Cool, a choice of uninspiring brands to drop £3k on!

Two 150mm 27.5" bikes compared... Bronson looks generally OK, a bit old skool, but I don't get why such a high BB, even the 5010 is lower.

@Hob Nob - discounted Hightower frame in medium any use to you?

Nope, ideally something between an XL and an XXL without a 3ft seat tube.

But to be fair, nothing in the current range inspired me, let alone at the prices they now charge.

£3300 I believe for the Bronson, £3100 for the 5010

Having recently bought one of the new Chameleons I’ll be adding a 5010 once I’ve had a demo. Where I live in East Sussex I don’t really need a long/low/slack affair and if the 5010 is anything like as fun as the chameleon it’ll be ace!
