Jeffsy.  Because 29er (and it's a good one...)

I did look at the Spectral, and that's pretty much what made me decide last year.  I really wanted 29er because I think they work really well as a trail bike.  I was not disappointed.

And, in fact, now that there is one, Capra 29er if you want something a bit more Enduro-gnar.

Two interesting reviews, recent days, different bike:

https://www.bikerumor.com/2018/04/26/first-rides-bombing-trail-on-cubes-affordable-ews-ready-stereo-150-29er/

http://www.mbr.co.uk/reviews/29er-full-suspension-bikes/cube-stereo-150

That's the brand new Stereo 150 29er Carbon.

There is also an (older) aluminium Stereo 150 around - the Stereo HPA 150 27.5+

The "new" 150 is not a Plus bike any more - Cube uses the new 150 Carbon Stereo for EWS Enduro racing. If 29 inch tyres and "all mountain / Enduro" is an option for you maybe check this new Stereo 150 Carbon 29.

I own the "older" Stereo HPA 150 27.5+ design (bike 2.6 Magic Mary Addix soft front and back). Very special beast with very low (too low?) BB. Use this bike for (difficult) trails and Enduro/downhill. It's an "traction monster" which comes to live when the trails get fast and difficult. Perfect for loose gravel / rocks. Very stiff frame and rock solid suspension. But overall not really an balanced design (like the Spectral or Jeffsy). But fun so. Not really a trail bike - more "all mountain" / "Enduro".

Sounds a bit like the "new" Stereo 150 Carbon 29 could be an interesting bike for you. According to the geo, spec and reviews a very fast and "balanced" bike.  If you like fast and difficult trails?

Depends on your budget and what model's you'd be comparing but there is some money off the Jeffsy's just now , making them hard to ignore if you can get past the strange Frankenstein drivetrain.

If you budget was all the way up to £3500, the cube stereo 140 hpc tm is 27.5 is pretty hard to beat for spec/cost.

Haha. Frankenstein drivetrain.

You might be right. But I like this Frankenstein Jeffsy drivetrain... o.k. - bit exotic...

Stereo 140 : typical, modern trailbike. Only know the older aluminium version. Nice bike.

Huge difference compared with my 150 27.5+. This bike beats the Stereo 140 in certain situation - but I always have to worry about the very low cranks / very low BB. The Stereo 140 suspension swallows smaller stuff better - the (old) 150 27.5+ is tuned for fast and rough stuff.

O.k. - if 29 tyres are no option... - maybe check out the link from dumbbot. 27.5 Stereo 140...?

Fun: current EWS Enduro team ranking. Think Canyon is #2 and Cube #3. Think Cube uses the new 29 Carbon Stereo 150 with 160 mm fork in EWS?

But o.k. - this doesn't really help when we are talking about trail bikes...

If it was between the Spectral and Jeffsy I'd pick the Spectral, probably the CF8.0 model - the CF9.0 has much nicer wheels and Fox performance level kit, but I'd prefer eagle over XT.

The Stereo 140 TM model is another option, remember if you use BC discount when CRC have it in stock it's £3150 - or you can go to a shop and buy it. The spec on the Stereo is better than anything else I've seen for the price.

I've pre ordered the spectral CF9.0 forecast to be shipped between the 30th -5th of May.

If that gets delayed I'll be mad at not taking advantage of the 10% off on the jeffsy, which expires on the 30th. Plus the model and size is in stock
