Go to your strava profile, C&P your stats for this year... to include commuting miles? I dunno. Up to you.

Distance: 2,018.9 mi
Time: 223h 16m
Elev Gain: 129,262 ft
Rides: 128

No cummuting miles for me. I've averaged more than 2 rides a week, which is going some, 4x up Everest with over 9 (24hr) days pure cycling. lol. My Mrs will be pleased. My mileage is over 400 miles down on the last 3 years total, so I've got my 2017 goal.

Distance: 5019 miles

Elev Gain: 120,458ft
Rides: 553

This includes commutes, may aim for 6000 miles next year, but that takes quite a bit extra effort/commitment.

Despite breaking my collar bone in June and not being a road rider, which in Hong Kong is the preferred 2 wheeled sport over our hot summers, plus I cant think of any other excuses and no more rides till the 1st so.....

Distance 2,537.1 km
Time 209h 44m
Elev Gain 68,298 m
Rides 105

Despite the break caused by a middle aged man taking on too big a jump, its been an enjoyable year for riding, some nice trips (Chiang Mai & Dubai) and a good healthy mix of people to ride with, here's to 2017 and the 3k target.

Fairly evenly split (I think- need to check) in distance between road, commuting and MTB.

Distance: 3,003 miles
Elevation Gain : 263,061 feet
Rides: 186
Time : 290 hours

Did my last 2016 ride yesterday. All of the above proper rides with a mix of mountain biking and road (on a CX bike). Not sure if I'll ever match this again, lots of early morning starts made this happen.

Well done everybody. It's not always easy to get out with "life" to contend with as well.

Needs some qualifiers(excuses) like average hours worked per week, child's age, house renovation status,

Hours worked 60+
Children - 3 months and 2
House - finally finished(almost)

Miles 440
Elevation 13247ft
Rides 38

Doesn't include my commute 18 miles 2-3 per week in fair weather.

My splits by bike were:

Commuter - 3294Km
Hardtail - 2769 Km
Road bike - 2392Km
Fat bike - 646Km

Which is quite a bit different from the last couple of years where I'd done much more road biking but both years were well over 10,000Km as a result.

4090 miles.
273 hours
306 rides
119,521 ft.

Probably 3000 miles of that is commuting. Had a couple of fallow periods. Early in the year due to Mrs Tthew having an operation and having to look after shit around the house, and October/November mainly for reasons of arsedness.

Happy with that as wife works a lot of weekends so have to two rug rats to keep me busy.

Lots of lunchtime loops and add some miles to work and back.

Just back from my final ride of the year, so...

Distance: 4,802.1 km
Time: 323h 56m
Elev Gain: 114,838 m
Rides: 182

Mix of MTB & road.

Didn't really have a target (well OK, I did but forgot it), but I don't feel like I didn't ride enough.

🙂

15 miles less than 2015 but the goal started as 2000, but more rides. Happy to have got close to last year in the end, been a bit of a sh..rubbish year tbh. Stress, aneamia and redundany.

Distance; 9079 miles
Time: 523hrs
Eleven gain:274888ft
Rides:426

I live in the flatlands of Suffolk and there's a lot of commuting miles in there but not one single turbo trainer mile as I'd much rather be outside.

Also, all bar about 10m are on road.

Wondering if I can break 10k next year now...

Not including turbo time.
I'm not a mountain biker or a roadie but my rides tend to be 50/50 dirt tarmac type rides, non of those miles are commuting miles.

Well I had a crappy year, pins out of the elbow late 2015 meant a slow start to the year, plus work got in the way.

Distance 971.7 km
Time 68h 37m
Elev Gain 9,170 m
Rides 59

Going to aim for 20,000m vertical next year (I appreciate that isn't a lot compared to many on here!)

Longest was a 325km road bike.

Really enjoyed my riding this year.
Mainly mtb with tiny percentage of road biking. Does include some commuting but that's mainly off road on the mtb 🙂

Had a good year for cycling:

Rides: 176
Total: 5,233 miles
Time: 546hrs
Elevation: 444,274ft

Got into a distance challenge with a mate & I topped out with 152 miles in 11.5 hrs riding.

Made redundant in November & decided to retire, looking to better my 2016 stats in 2017 🙂 now I have more cycling time.

Only really got back into cycling at the end of summer so stats not great for this year:
Rides: 59
Total: 1,755km
Time: 85h 15m
Elevation: 17,598m

Did more runs than I did rides - 113 of those.

4,766 miles
318 hours
191 days riding
7,192ft max elevation in a single ride
229,961ft total elevation for year.

A bit less than last year, but I did become a Dad at the end of July and managed to get enough riding in to have my best cyclocross season yet and win our club rider trophy for TT points despite competing on a road bike.
A good year.

That should be the riding done for the year. I went out today to get some additional climbing. Sitting on 69.5k metres of ascent was too tempting...

Not too bad considering having 2 jobs, 2 kids and a house renovation lasting all year.
Here's to 2017 and more hours/miles/riding

Just watched my little Strava film (2016.strava.com), 361hrs 17 minutes of riding, longest ride 221 miles (the Rapha Manchester to London), a total of 5131 miles.

That's 118 rides and a total elevation of 449,888ft / 137,125m

Almost tempting to go and find a climb of 112ft to get to 450,000!

(I did better in 2015 though 129.31ft).

Probably 80% road/commute distance wise but I do get out on the mtb at least once a week and quite often 2/3.

It is often said that this site is full of armchair cyclists but after reading all of the posts so far, there are so many huge distances. I was pleased with my 3500 miles until I read this thread, but now I'm inspired for a big number for 2017!

Almost all off road, quite pleased with that. Declining health means the last few months have been hard to get much done and I suspect I will have to work hard in 2017 to get anywhere near 2016, but I will aim for a similar volume in 2017.

A good mix of bikes and countries, on and off road. It's been a very enjoyable year of riding and I'm aiming for more of the same in 2017. Got a gravel race in Australia, a weekend in Mallorca and some mtb in California planned already. With a lot of cancer being diagnosed among friends and family this year I'm acutely conscious of making the most of my health and doing the stuff I love because you never know...

Includes commuting (because I don't know how to exclude it) and is about 6 months worth. I lost 3 weeks of December to a car accident but still exceeded my arbitrary target for the year. I'm hoping for 1200 miles in 2017.

[quote=Dibbs ]I managed to average 120.81ft ascent for each mile traveled, not bad for an old bloke.
Height/distance ratios in this thread are all over the place.

Distance: 3,260.2 mi
Time: 351h 48m
Elev Gain: 233,100 ft

Was aiming for 3000 miles in the year so managed that despite losing 6 weeks early after being doored on the way to work at the beginning of April! Commuting counts for half the mileage but almost 0 of the climbing figure (flat, 4 mile each way) so to smash my 2015 climbing and mileage figures is good. Put in a massive effort to get out on the bike since August to get my fitness back and it worked rather well 🙂

Aiming for 3500 miles this year as I'm slowly getting back into road riding after a decade away from it so (touch wood...) I should do it easily.

Distance - 3,427.2 km
Time - 175h 33m
Elev Gain - 42,898 m
Rides - 224

I've also run 1150km. Pretty pleased with that, especially as our daughter was born in May and time has been a bit limited!

Split is roughly a third MTB and the rest on the road.
