I remember a few people asking about how well full 3.0" tyres fit in the new Ragley Bigwig 29er, not sure if there was ever a full answer.

I have been messing around with our new demo wheelset checking clearance on a range of 29ers including the new Bigwig. They fit great, as they should given they list it as compatible but that isn't always the case. Both chainstay and seatstay have bags of room.

We also bunged them in a set of 2016 non Boost Pikes and it's usable but tight.

If you want to see the pictures then I have put some up on our blog - Pedals Bigwig B+ Blog but be warned it contains advertising for our wares.

Try and link some pictures direct...

I really liked the look of these till I saw the length of them, to say they are supposed to be long, low and slack, they seem very short

The reach in Medium is on the long side, same as a TransAM 29 and most 'longer' hardtails, but the Large is shorter than a TransAM and no XL (yet) so it depends how tall you are.

Also it's super slack, so if you stick a big reach on it + the slack HA the wheelbase would go crazy long, which some people might be into but on the whole I think the majority would find it slow and ponderous. I would love to see an XL though, and drop the XS size if needed.

18" 2012 Kona Honzo 430 reach.
18" 2016 Ragley Big Wig 420 reach.
Medium 2016 Transition TransAM 29er 415 reach.

The head angles aren't much different either
Kona 68
Ragley 65 (65.5 with 120 forks)
Transition 67.5

Sticking a 65.5 HA on the Kona gives wheelbase of 1141, Shorter than the BW and longer than the AM... hardly any difference.

Seems like Kona were pushing the long front end 4 years before everyone else and are still in front.

Well, except a Transition TransAM 18" is a Large, which is 443.
Medium has a seat tube of 16.5"

Doesn't excuse the Bigwig for not having an XL though to give options for taller riders. I will keep the pressure on them...
