Yep, really pleased for Spartacus. Don't retire now just as it's going so well!

The other question is what on earth happened at that second time check where he was shown as being well down?

Perhaps the battery lead fell off the motor.

What about that Giant Dumoulin rides? Was it designed by Lego?

Track starts tonight. Get the beers in.

Don't even think it slowoldman.

If my boys find out there's something out there that combines Lego and bikes it's going to get very expensive.

Hines' bike is totally different to the others. Might be to do with the amount of power he has put down on that start.

Team pursuit qualifying now but it's moved to red button while BBC1 wastes it's time looking back on some rowing... 🙄

It's really interesting seeing the different bike set-ups that teams are using. Can't wait til the USA team with their left-hand drivetrain take to the track.

Times are just plummeting now the top teams are coming along.

Wider gaps between stays and wheels (As seen on the VIAS Venge, featuring AERORISER (TM)) seem to be the flavour of the month. I assume it's something to do with reducing turbulent airflow.

I read something that said the cervelo's were flexy , won't be surprised if they don't get riden in some sprint events (could have been disinformation though)

Good to see the Aussies have recovered from that training crash they had the other day, they look pretty smooth.

Edit: that was an amazing last turn from Amy Cure, 2.5 laps on the front right at the end!

Interesting that gb are using campag instead of the usual mavic wheels. More aero or are they more round?

So are Canada, maybe wider for fatter tubs?

Psychologically that's a massive boost - Canada and USA have to go onto the track in a simple qualification run knowing that the WR has just gone.

I didn't think that tyre width gained anything since a track is going to be the best surface you can ride on. Means that aero trumps everything surely?

Aero advantage as that side of the bike goes slower

Final is going to be tight. Assuming GB and USA don't mess up and nobody else hugely ups their game and those two are in the final.

Through to the Gold/Silver ride in the Men's Team Sprint, should be up against NZ.
France and Australia go for Bronze.

Missed out on WR by a few 10ths but they're 3.5 seconds up on the Danes. Aussies now, they're going to be pretty rapid as well.

Edit: OK, maybe not as rapid as I thought!

well well well.......

3.5s faster than Denmark, over a 235s event is 1.5%

1.5% of 4000m is 60m. Which is massive.

Right, now for the bulls

What a fantastic ride!

Such a good turn around for the GB sprint team, they've not won much since the last Olympics so to pull it out here is phenomenal.
