What about her eyes?

I know it's been said before, but Jo Rowsell Shands eyes..

Just said the same thing to Mrs THM. Beautiful.

Fingers crossed for Cav.

I think Mrs Rowsell-Shand is a very attractive lady! She rides around my local routes but I've never seen her, fortunately for both of us..

6th for Cav in the Scratch.
Great ride from Kluge and Hansen to get a lap on the bunch.

Nice of the other girls to turn up.

Now Virginie Cueef. Looks like she's blowing out of her .... no, I won't.

Anna Meares looks a lot slower than she used to be! Tired after the Keirin or just too old for it now?

[claim to fame]I got a selfie with Anna Meares at London when she won Gold[/claim to fame]*

*to be fair she was so happy she'd have stood next to pretty much anything, even me... 😳

Good ride by the Russian fella for bronze.

Now let's hope Skinner can give Kenny a race

Sudden death for Calum - based on the first ride I fancy 2-0 to Kenny

edit: bosh, game over

They need to set up a feed from the rear facing camera on their visors to save them having to look round so much.

Both of those combined - finding it harder to recover because she's older I reckon (clearly Becky recovered OK).

The IP has to be the most boring part of the Omnium...
Still, Cav up in Heat 7.

I think the Omnium should be a Team format. Two riders. Scratch race (position taken on placing of both riders), a Madison, a Team Elimination (if one rider gets eliminated, both are out), a 2-up Team Pursuit and a Team Sprint. That'd be far more interesting.

BBC 1 abandoned the velodrome, but I found Cav on the red button. Great ride.

Incredible ride from Cab, that time training with the pursuit squad has paid dividends. That time would have won the world individual pursuit title last year!

Is this running late? It seems there will be little time before the elimination. You wouldn't want to be late in the pecking order

Not Hoy "his weakest event would be the pursuit" - which is surprising as he's got everything else spot on. Unless of course he's suggesting that the scratch race was a blip and Cav will win the other 4.

The elimination race is always the exciting event but so much happened in that race. Hansen dropped a right bollock, felt Cav had the race sewn up but for that panicky move up the inside.
Top racing

bloody cracking weekend of cycling on telly and at home. Knackered this morning having stayed up to watch Cav in Devil Take The Hindmost, but very much looking forward to tonight's racing in both Omniums...

Yes, that made me chuckle.

Glad you mentioned the Cav interview - that wasn't on the cycling iPlayer channel, so I went on to BBC1 to watch it. Classic Cav.

He seems to be happy in himself there - hope he can get something out of this.

Wasn't Trott flipping quick there? Last 2 laps on the front and nobody could get round her.

Link to it? I was watching it online and that seems to have large swathes of silence while they switch between events...

Tonight's racing should be good.

You need to find the BBC1 coverage on iPlayer (go to channels and schedule). It was on just before I posted, so just before 15:00.

Flipping hell is it on again already?

I've got so much work to do this week and was really wanting to get out and ride a bit as well.

Oh well.

How does his flying lap stack up vs the rest? I mean, we know he's quick and his TT/Pursuit performance suggests he has some decent stamina built in too, so hopefully he can score well in that 'controllable' environment.

Then looks like there's half a dozen or eight still in contention, so points race will have to be contested rather than just marking someone else out of it, so maybe sprint points will become vital as opposed to trying to steal laps.

I think the evening entertainment's sorted then.

Sorry, you're not nicking her.

She's the only thing my hometown (Cheshunt) has going for it now that the shine's come off Sir Cliff.

Hoy seemed to think he would be a lot better at that than the pursuit and kilo, so should be promising. Was talking him up for the flying lap in the "interview" mentioned above.

Very definitely the wrong thread, take your horse dancing off somewhere else! 😉

Cav going well, up into 2nd.

It got covered a few pages ago. Supposedly aerodynamics. Chris Boardman reckons it's mostly bollocks though, says Team GB tried it out about 10 years ago and found sod all difference.

160 laps of points racing.

That lap gain from Hansen has pushed Cav back down to Bronze medal position. This is going to be harsh, it's very close up the top and he's not got any allies.

Looked deliberate to me

It's extremely risky and very stupid to attempt a deliberate crash on the track and besides, taking out the Korean was of no benefit to anyone. 99% of the time in anything like that, both riders will go down.

It was a thoroughly stupid move but not deliberate.

clumsy, he swung up, expected the korean to come through low down and was swinging back on but the korean followed him up

Looked like a stupid move for cab, but I don't understand how if you crash you can just sit down and have a rest for a few laps and join back in and count as being on the same lap?

If cav hadn't looked back immediately before cutting down, I could have seen it being an unfortunate mistake, but to look round first then cut down, that just seems hard to explain/excuse.

He won't have won many friends with that.
