My headset on my Trance has started to creak and feels ‘juddery’ when rocked etc.
I called my local bike shop earlier today to book a headset replacement and they have quoted me a date of September 26th to carry out the works.
There’s no way I can wait that long with the trails running so nicely.
So I was after a bit of guidance to swapping out the headset myself. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction as to what headset I require and how easy the swap will be and will I require any specialist tools etc. to do the job.
I do a few bits and pieces on the bike myself but never attempted a head set.
Thanks in advance. I do have pictures of the headset on my phone but no idea how to post them on here.
Can't promise they're correct but,

I was just looking on this website and appears similar to what I have now.
Will this be a straight forward job to swap over?
Its pretty straightforward. Easiest with a bike stand, although anything to support the frame is handy. When you do fit the newer bearings, healthy coat of grease over the bearings.
You will only need to replace the bearings, the headset cups should be fine.
