Evening all,
It's my first post here so be gentle with me.
I am looking for help in purchasing a new road bike. After years out the saddle and a transition from mountain bike I have decided to take the plunge and get on the saddle again with a road bike. My sites have been set on a Trek Madone 4.9 and I would like any pointers as to where I can pick up a bargain. I know Evans price match but haven't managed to find it under £1850.00, I noticed a thread on here where someone managed to get one for something in the region of £1600.
Any advice pointers or suggestions would be massively appreciated.

Trouble with Trek is they disapprove of mail order so even if you see a bargain you have to go pick it up, fine if local but if it's the other end of the country...
You're very late as well, new ones have been out for months now, so bargains will be few and far between. Grab one at £1850 and enjoy it! As RD says, you have to collect Trek bikes in person, so you'll quickly lose any saving in travel time and cost.
Thanks guys, appreciate the honesty.
As everything it comes down to timing
It was £2600 full price, £1850 is a bargain. I'd snap one up now before they all go.
They sell off their demo bikes too so sometimes good deals can be had there - http://www.trekdemosale.co.uk
If you are in Gloucestershire pop into Cheltenham Cycles have a chat with them.Trek road sizing is different to a lot.My road bikes are 54cm where other makes I have been 52cm.Great bikes though.
