I'm looking to upgrade the RS-XC30 fork on my sons Rockhopper it's 100mm travel but I've found a SH Revelation RCT3 which is 120mm not sure what the axle to crown height is yet What are the chances of making it work? or is it a definite no no. Apart from axle to crown height what else should I consider?

It'll be a tiny bit slacker, nothing to sorry about.
Check the steerer is the same diameter (straight 1 1/8" I guess) and long enough. Also brake caliper fitting.
