Apparently it's not possible to fit volume spacers to a 2013 fox factory 32 fork, anyone tried this with any success or have an alternative? TF say they can manufacture a top cap insert, leading me to think "well, if they can, I can"
The spring is far too linear on the right sag setting and bottoms out far too easily, I want a much more progressive feel, sensitive on small stuff but "bottomless"....
There might be an unsupported top cap replacement if the thread pitch is the same! Bear in mind you can't actually fit that many spacers in old Floats. They were usually DIY tuned with oil in the air chamber, about 10-20 ml, based on 120 mm travel, much more and you don't get full travel! You can put different viscosity oils in the damper side if open bath.
Those forks often suffer from oil migration anyway. You usually find nearly all the lower bath oil has worked it's way up into the upper air chamber (should have 5 ml of Fox blue not the 30 ml you usually find) within a few months of riding. Therefore it's impossible to keep it consistent without regular lower services/transferring the oil from the top to bottom and/or running a really low bath oil level.
TF said example you that - tune it using some oil in Telus chamber which I'm reluctant to do for those reasons. Maybe I just need an excuse for a new bike 😆😆😆
duckers - I have one of the NA2 type 32 top-caps (no blue spacers as they've since been sold) for sale if you want to it? I also bought it for my 2013 32's to cure the linear spring rate.
