Hello I have just bought a zesty frame and wondering what bb and chainset I can fit? I want to keep cost down as much as possible. I intend to run 1 x 10 (never done this before either) but assume I can run any crank just using a narrow/wide ring in the middle.

Am I looking for a bb90 bottom bracket and what is a good cheapish one to get? Can i run a standard shimano crank i.e. something like and SLX?

cheers for any help.

You won't like my answer but the only decent long lasting quality press fit BB is the hope one not cheap though... £100 ish but I went through xt/fsa ones in weeks... Hope has been fit and forget for 12 months and counting

Nukeproof do a metal pressfit one. It's on CRC's website, working well for me.

Hi mate, originally it was a shimano bb90 bb running xt cranks so presume slx will be ok. When I first went 1 x 10 i used the middle ring which was a 32 and a mech with a clutch which worked well.

IIRC the KCNC press fit has replaceable cartridge bearings too. Worth a look.

cheers, so BB90 is what I am looking for and it should fit a standard crankset? Thanks Bitterlemon I might send you an email if that is cool, I didnt want to bother you.

As i tend to buy oldish kit I havent kept up with BB sizes. Are there large crank axles for the new larger BB's? Or do they take a standard crank axle and just have the bearings internally?

Cheers....
