I bought one of those dirt cheap Reverbs off CRC last week and have just got round to actually unboxing it. It has the silver collar, which IIRC was found on the 2011 models. The model is clearly listed as a 2012 model, so does anyone know whether a silver collar version was produced in the 2012 production year, and if so, does it have the upgraded internals or is it the same as the rubbish 2011 version?
Not sure how the crc ones are boxed but myn had the year and week of manufacture on the box
The only real difference between the year of manufacturer is the attachment at the post end. The later models have a threaded attachment whereas the earlier models simply push on to the barb. If yours has the screw on arrangement I wouldn't worry too much about the year.
Isnt the year of manufacture stamped on the inside of the bar clamp ?.
The internals are the same - only the plastic hose spigot was changed to a metal one.
Thanks for that folks, ive had aa look inside the bar clamp as Reedspeed suggested and its 8th Aug 2012 stamped on there, with the metal hose attachment instead of plastic.
Yours comes in a box?! 😡 . .. Mine arrive wrapped in paper (same batch that dirt cheap on crc) 🙄
This isn't based on any inside knowledge; but I image RS has a lot of unused <2011 stock sitting around which they can't really shift. Rebuild them with the important parts of the 2012 posts and sell them cheap through the online retailers: bingo, stock cleared and cash in the bank.
