Just built up my new five and getting a bit concerned about
pressure in the shock for the correct sag, im 14st in my bike
gear and at the moment im having to put in 235 psi!never been
near this on other frames 190psi for an St4 is the closest.
so anybody else with a 2011 5 and near my weight?
This isn't an entirely helpful answer but I had an older 5 and ran about 250 in the rear shock (I was a few pounds heavier then you at the time). It sounds about right.....
Different pivot and shock ratio to consider
Set it up on the sag, as above different leverage ratio e.t.c
Have a look at my setup guide if your stuck:

I have a 2011 five pro, run 70psi in rlc forks and about 200-215psi in back rp23. Im 12 stone 8pound in the buff. So guess prob about 13 and a half stone kitted up with full camel pack, shoes, helmet, tools etc. Works for me and runs at dead on 25% sag (im anal enough to measure sag with a tape measure)
Ok cheers all 😀
As the other posters say, set the sag right, whatever the pressure (well less than 300psi I think !?) & take it from there.
On my 5 I started at the usual base of psi for lb in weight (I'm lighter at 11.5 stone = 161 lb) found my ideal at 170 - 180 psi depending on what riding I'm doing. I probably only have 20-25 % sag as I found it lacked pop and I clipped too many rocks at 25-30%.
Don't go over 300psi as they arent designed for it
