Before I press buy on parts, are there any major issues preventing me upgrading a 2010 era Zesty to 12 speed? I have 10 speed at the moment which needs replacing and I'm thinking of bypassing 11 speed as the prices are not ridiculously dissimilar, notwithstanding that I will need to build a new rear wheel.
I have no intention of replacing the bike. It has a nice Cane Creek shock etc...
My intention is to use a new spare 26 inch rim to build a micro spline wheel with a cheap (35 Euro Shimano FH-MT500 hub). Then it is a new 32 thick thin chainring and the remainder a mix of Shimano XT and SLX kit for the other 12 speed elements.
Anything I am missing?
