hi guys

have a set of 09 u turn lyriks which were ok before service just leaking slightly.

All oil changed and cleaned including the lowers with new 5wt in the damper and 15wt in the legs.

Simce this they play back and forth with a slight knock (headset and wheel is tight), definitly clean inside

seems odd anyone have any ideas?? Could it be the 15wt is thinner than what was in before as I believe the oil helps pad the bushes and fill play

thanks

I've had that before on other forks, put it down to thin oil and maybe the crap in the oil was adding to it. Not much help but I ended up replacing the bushes.

Some forks are designed to work with some play to prevent them binding, does t make it optimal in lyrics but its not the end of the world just keep running them till they're dead.

Thanks, might try a thicker grade of oil as well. Possibly just not the same quality as what was in there. It’s my first service as owner and some thick red oil came out but oil was clean as were the insides, just some dirt and old grease around the seals which was making them leak. Bushes are not marked and stanchions are fine so can’t imagine they are that loose or given the good clean conditions before service that there was much inside reducing the play but they do knock slightly like the front brake pads are moving

thanks again
