Hello all,
Just got a 2005 sx trail frame and looking at getting some forks for it...
As far as I'm aware the frame is identical to the '06 enduro, which has a max recommended fork travel of 160mm, however the 05 sx trail came with marz 66r's with an a2c that is longer than totems! (575mm)
So I guess my question is whether I should be sticking to 160mm or using the stock a2c as a guide?
The bike will be performing some freeride duties if that helps,
Cheers
Murray
Unless you are a complete nutjob you wont bust an SX Trail up with anything from 160mm-180mm.
My '07 (in fact both my '07's) have been great with 55's (2010 rc3 ti's) Certainlly doesn't seem to be lacking in travel, stiffness or slackness. Nice option at the lighter end of the scale..
I've used 55 RC3s which are 160mm on mine in the past and would agree that they seem to match the frame pretty well for everything except the most mental riding (I definitely never felt limited by them in the uk or the alps).
On a totally unrelated note (*ahem*) there's a pair on ebay at the moment 😀

Thanks for the replies chaps. Not going to be hucking massive drops so will start looking around 160mm I recon, going by the comments here.. As for the 'subtle' marketing by mrsi, as it happens I was already watching them 😉 😀
