I'll be staying overnight for a training course next week, want to take the bike for an evening ride. Don't know the area at all, any recommendations for routes, either mtb or road?

Cheers!

Why not post on the Hampshire Riding thread?

There is of course the traditional means of passing the evening down that way, i.e. drink your way round Gosport, followed by a trip to Emma's (which has apparently been done up recently, so your shoes might not stick to the carpet).

QECP is probably your best bet, if it stays dry 🙂

Depends what type of riding you like but qe is about half hour or so from Fareham on a clear road. Meon Valley is also fairly accessible for a more rolling open type ride.

Or bring a road bike and ride straight out of town.

What day next week?

You'll want a guide for the better bits of QE

QECP was good last night, did 28.5km and 950m of elevation all off-road 8)

Edit: lordswood is also about the same time to get to so if you want to go for 2 rides.

Edit 2: there is a Thursday lordwood ride that is organised on here and I/we ride QECP on Wednesday nights.
