I am trying to fit a Maxxis Minon 2.8 to a Hope 35w wheel ...
How the F*** do you get the bead over the rim in the last section.
Three perdros levers are working .... there must be a technique ....
Put the bead in the middle (recessed) bit of the rim. Work round from one side keeping the bead taut to give yourself as much bead as possible to work with on the last bit to go over the rim.
If you do it right you should just about never need tyre levers. Only needed them as a last resort on a procore setup on a narrow rim (not really enough space for 4 beads in the well of the rim so things get tight unless you use a particular technique that I hadn't sussed then).
The window between "can be fitted without tools" and "can't be fitted even using levers" is pretty narrow, especially if you work the bead round properly.
Just calming down ... will go and try again in a minute ....
Different wheel but I left mine in the sun for the day, then some talcum powder and eventually it went on! Dreading having a puncture!
Blimey .... a bit of shifting around and that worked. Â The concept of no tyre levers ....
Well, maybe , but not on this combo ..
