Dear Forum,
I'm considering changing up to 2.8" tyres for this summer, I was wondering if anyone had tried fitting them into a T130? I know that they fit into the new 2019 frames. It looks like there would be enough room in the 2017 frame, but a little tight.

how tight is tight? Paint scrapingly tight? Wheel won't turn if it breaks a spoke sort of tight?
Not for a T130 but I looked at whether a 2.6 would fit in my frame and concluded that yes, it would but it also added potential for all kinds of stuff to go wrong for dubious additional benefit so am sticking with a 2.4
2.6 Nobby Nic just fitted in my 2017 T130C RS, but rubbed on the chainstay under hard cornering. Maxxis do size up small so a 2.8 would likely fit but there would naff all clearance. My advise? Don't bother and go with a 2.5 Minion, that's plenty of tyre for a T130.
also if you are 29er then a 29X2.8 is likely to be havier than one of the tires on Audi A6.
I had an official reply from Whyte to say that I would be pushing it at 2.4"/ I just replaced the rear tyre with another High Roller 2 in 2.3". I'll probably commit to a DHF WT 2.5 for the front once the big mountains start calling in Summer.
Thanks for the feedback.
