The good ebike is getting its drivetrain replaced.
Original set up was 1x12 with a direct drive FSA chainring(FSA WB604 / 34T / DM / Steel)- Cranks are -FSA CK-745 165mm
Mech is a 12spd XT
Â
What I want to do is change the 12 speed to a 10 speed, and ive new 10spd XO mech and shifter to fit on in place of the xt mech.
Â
The chainring is a bit jaggy, so replacing that is a must, but when i look, all it tells me is it is a 1x12
So can i stick with this same ring, but run a 10spd set up on it without issues ?
Â
Im replacing the wheels(for pro5) the brakes for T4V4 on the HD rotors as well as chainring the cassette/chain/chainring(shifters/mech etc)
Â
I have a slight issue because original set up on the wheels, is a center lock rotor,, and the freehub is 12spd microsplineÂ
The bargain crc wheel is an HG freehub and 6 bolt
So to run it as 12 ms, id have to replace the freehub from HG to microspline(Cost 90 quid) which is a bit annoying as ive the new xo mech and shifter here doing nowt.
.
.
OR- and this is probably the least headspinning way, to leave it as a 12, just replace the chainring/chain/cassette with the specced parts by replacing the Hope HG with an MS freehub
.
I know this is all a bit confusing, but then its true ive a habit of making things difficult for myself 🙄Â
Â
I fully blame CRC for this. It's their fault they sold me this stuff.
Yeah, you can totally do this.
I've got two bikes running 10 speed gears with 12 speed narrow/wide chain rings.  No issues at all.
