Hi

I am thinking of running a 2x10 setup on my hardtail MTB with the following setup, will this work?

Sram XX 10 Speed Rear Mech (Medium Cage)
Sram XX 10 Speed Cassette
Shimano XT Crank with Raceface 32t Single Speed Chainring.
SRAM PC1070 10-Speed Bike Chain

Do I need a chain guide? If yes I was thinking the:

e.13 XCX Bottom Bracket Guide 32-42 tooth

You'll almost certainly need a guide. The e13 xcxs are superb.

Otherwise, sounds fine.

and you might struggle to get it to do 2x10 😉

Yes, and you will need a guide, but if you're prepared to spend XX money, why not go XX1, negates the need for a guide then, and gives a better range.

Does your frame have ISCG tabs? If so, I'd go for the e13 XCX but in ISCG mount, more spacing options and doesn't need re-setting up when you replace the BB. If no tabs, BB is fine. e13 is a great device.
