I am looking at converting to a 1X10 set up from the current 2X9, 22/36 chainring, 11/34 casstte. A few questions, Looking to go with a narrow wide chainring but which size for a 26" enduro style bike, 32 tooth? I'm also looking to go with an expander at the back, ideally 10 to a 40/42 tooth. Or go with a 1X9? I usually spin my way to the top. But dont want to spin out on descents to quickly. I am tall with good power output but also heavier on the climbs. Cheers!
All depends on your legs and where you ride.
It was only honister that defeated me on the 34t when I came back to the UK but it's harder than a 32t.
Pick one and be prepared to go up and down.

Not the full comparison but you can work out where your current set up would sit against a 30/32/34 and try limiting yourself to those gears for a few rides.
